3 WORDS

Have you ever heard someone say "sticks & stones can break my bones but, words can never hurt me"? I am sure you have because it such a childhood saying. Many words can be said to us over the years of our lives but, so many words can effect us and our lives.

How about when you were little and your favorite friend in the world called you their BEST friend? What about when you heard you made the team? When the one person you want to say IT says I love you? What about your approved for the loan? How about we're getting married/having a baby?

How did they make you feel?

Tonight I was told "I have cancer" by mom. My life changed in one short moment in time. My life flashed of what would I do without her and how would I survive or remember anything. When these words are said to you by someone else you always think oh, I am sorry I will pray for you but, when it is your mom it is totally different.

As I have thought about this situation over and over the only answer I can come to is the only answer that comes true....JUST PRAY!!!!

I Love Babies!

As most of you know one my most favorite friends the world is having a baby boy soon. Mandy was given a baby shower today from some of her other friends and it was a wonderful shower filled with lots of love and gifts.

Baby Reid is due October 17th and I don't think his mom, dad or big sister Maya could be any happier. After today Reid should be a well dressed little man :)

I will say it was one of the funniest baby shower's I have ever been to! All the ladies there that have little boys or even grown boys told Mandy stories on how different little boys are from girls. The facial expressions were worth a million bucks!

Here are a few pics from today's shower...

Friday Night Lights

Tonight I headed down south to Bibb County to watch Howard play some good ole' fashion football! The cool thing about this game is Ansley would be cheering with the varsity cheerleaders :) She was so excited about being on the field and she had a large group of friends & family there to watch her.
Ansley joined us in the stands no long after the game started and was still cheering in the stands. Every time we would get a TD she would cheer and put her arms in a high V with some "spirit fingers". I guess you can take the cheerleader off the field but, you can't take it out of her :)
The Howard Huskies played an awesome game and put the smack down on the field. At the start of 4th quarter Howard was winning 38 to 14 and actually got two more TD's in the 4th. I hated that we didn't get to see those but, since it was getting late we decided it might be best to leave a little early with the 4 kids and beat the crowd.
I was so proud of Ansley....nothing makes your heart more proud then to watch someone you love loving something you have heart for yourself!

Check out the slide show of Ansley cheering & the football game:

A long, long time coming but great news!

I GOT A JOB!!!!

After being laid off for 8 long months I will be going back to work :) I am now employed by Chic-Fil-A....woohoo!! I can't wait to see what a steady paycheck looks like and what insurance feels like again.

I guess this brings to mind what have I learned over the past months??
~I don't always have to have what I want.
~I can go without things.
~I learned to live with only the things I need.
~I saw who my real friends are.
~I can still have fun without money.

But, mostly I learned...
* I am not in control of my life...if you pray HE listens*

Stay posted to see how my new job goes....& where it leads me!

Simple Prayers

Lord, I thank you for your beloved Son, for your unfailing love, and for Your wonderful thoughts. During my busy day, help me to remember all that You have done for me. Help me to follow Your Word and walk in purity of heart.
