CHRISTmas...the one day that goes on for FOUR days :)

Christmas oh, how I LOVE Christmas! I would have to say besides my own birthday Jesus's birthday is my most FAVORITE day in the year!! I am one of those crazy people that on Thanksgiving day I am thinking about getting all my decorations out that weekend and decking the halls. Some people get all freaked out about having so much to do around Christmas & all the running around that happens with this time of the year but, I live for it.

My Christmas starts on Christmas Eve and goes through the weekend...how FUN!!!!

First, on my holiday adventure is Christmas Eve with my family :) We ALWAYS have pancakes made by my dad and let me tell you they are soooooo YUMMY!!

Christmas Eve pics:

Next, CHRISTMAS DAY! I am hear to tell you I am still like a child on this day, I still wake up with butterflys in my stomach. I can remember as most of us can when I was a little girl I couldn't WAIT to see what Santa brought me but, now I can't wait to give my gifts to my mom and dad. This year I found myself growing closer to Jesus so this Christmas I looked at the day so different. It is the day of our Lord and Savior's birth! Wow, what an amazing gift to each and everyone of us. I hope each and everyone of you had a wonderful Christmas and that you will understand the TRUE meaning of Christmas.

Christmas Day pics:

The 3rd event in my Christmas day that lasted 4 days was the Hartsfield Christmas Dinner. This of course is my dad's side of the family. I hate that we only get to see some of the family members at Christmas but, either way it always so nice to see everyone and catch up.

Check out the Hartsfield gang:

The last stop of my Christmas of 2009 was to my best friends house! Jennifer is married to Brian whom we both grew up with and they have 2 precious girls. Ansley is 4 and Ashlynn is 2 they both are my little lovebugs! I love going to see them down in Macon. Seeing Christmas through their eyes always brings me so much joy :)
Yes, of course I have pitures!!!! Hey, check out what Santa delivered to them from the North Pole....

Kids, Christmas & Oh, yea the gifts!!!!

As most of you know I have a thing for kiddo's! I love them to death to be honest. Since losing my job last December I have survived by keeping kids and I have been so blessed. As of November I have become to the nanny to two sweet kids. Ty is 3 and Mary is 1...we have the most fun throughout the day. On Monday nights I watch two little girls that are full of sugar & spice with everything nice :)

I was excited when I went to keep the girls this past Monday night because I couldn't wait to give them their Christmas presents!!!!!! Speaking of presents I got a surprise from Vanessa (3) and Olivia (4 months) the Monday before. Sweet little Vanessa came running up to me with a cute little red bag saying Ms. Sharon this is for you! Inside I found a gift certificate to The Scarlet Retreat for a massage (oh, how I love them) and the cutest Christmas tree ornament ever!!

See how cute!!!!

Then of course there was this....only a mom would know how GREAT of a gift this is!

Today of course is CHRISTmas Eve-Eve!! Ty, Mary and I had lots to do to get ready for Santa & make a few surprises for mommy and daddy :) We colored some Christmas pictures, made some Christmas ornaments with their pictures in them and got our reindeer food ready for tomorrow night.

Check out these pics!

Ty & Mary's mommy & daddy know me VERY well....check out my Christmas gift from the Tingle family!

Baby boy Reid & Big sister Maya

Tonight, I went to meet one of my favorite friends ever!! I met Mandy for dinner & of course to hold onto sweet baby Reid. We had the best time catching up...it had been a litte while since we had sat and talked. Maya told me about her Elf on the shelf which she named Rosey Cheeks (how cute), her wish list for Santa and that Santa had sent her a email!!!!

After dinner and the fact I felt like Reid had napped long enough in his seat he was passed my way for a little snuggle time with me. Let me tell you he is the sweetest baby boy EVER!!!! I was just in love with how he would snuggle up in my arms. I so enjoyed loving on Reid and listening to Maya tell me all her Christmas stories. Really if you think about it isn't Christmas so much better through the eyes of a child. Mandy, & her husband Michael are so blessed with two precious children and I have attached pictures of them. As you look at them please say a little prayer for them as baby Reid is battling some health issues and as we all know prayer is the best medication we can have.

Just change the day!

Ok, so you already know I don't do well with changing traditions. Well, since my aunt and cousin's couldn't go yesterday we just changed the day.

Today we all headed out to The Mall Of Georgia after church for a day of shopping.

We started out at Macaroni Grill for lunch and then headed over to the mall :) We ended our shopping day with a little venture to TJ MAX. Ok, so I have to tell you if you have never been to the TJ MAX @ the mall of GA. you should try it! That store has EVERYTHING!!!!!

We ended the night with a drive thru visit to Steak -n- Shake...it was yummy!!!!

I am a sucker for TRADITION'S

I love traditions and really get upset if they get taken out of my life! Really I do...it can almost bring me to tears.

For years now my mom and I have been going to a craft fair near Stone Mountain the first Saturday in December. A few years ago my aunt and cousin joined us! Oh, my gosh we had a blast...really we did. We started out at the craft fair then ventured on to lunch at the Cracker Barrel then decided to head to The Mall of Georgia were we literally shopped for ever! We even shopped the stores around the mall. We stayed so late we ate dinner at the Olive Garden. No kidding we didn't get home until 11:30 that night! I use to have a picture of what my suv looked like when we got home...maybe I will find it somewhere.

With all that being said we have kept this tradition for years. We actually do the same thing every year!

This year my aunt and cousins couldn't go that day but, because of my tradition issue my mom and I stuck it out and went all alone. We missed Vicky and my cousins but, it was so much fun to laugh with mom all day long :)

Oh, SHOPPING...how I love thee.........

Ok, so I know some of ya'll will think I have totally lost it but, I haven't. My traditional shopping spree started at 11:00 Thanksgiving night and ended around lunch time that day after!

Yep that is right I shopped from 11:00 Thanksgiving night until lunch time on Friday:)

It is wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Really it is ~ I really don't know if words can express the fun I have during this time. Jennifer, Laurie, Mandy and I had a blast. We start our spree at Tanger in Locust Grove then off to Starbucks for a pick me up :) Off to Kohl's, Target, Belk's (really anywhere on Jonesboro Road) and then for some breakfast and then to JcPenny's and all the shops on Hwy 20 in McDonough. I LOVE this time! It is so much fun just to shop with your friends to laugh until you are almost crying and to realize exactly how funny things can be at the crack of dawn in the morning.

Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of this outing because my camera would take up to much room in my purse....maybe next year!

Thanksgiving Turkey...yum, yum!

I have to start out by saying I love Thanksgiving dinner! The day of Thanksgiving doesn't really feel different to me because I feel like I am Thankful all year long. I will have to say that I am pretty lucky because I only have one place to be on Thanksgiving and it isn't until 6ish that night :)

For years I have been shopping the day after and love every minute of it (more to come on that). Well, with that being said I have a tradition I do every year on Thanksgiving and it is called sleeping in as late as I can. This year I didn't get up until almost 2:00p.m. ~ yep that is right 2!!!!!!!!!!

After my nice long sleep I headed over to my aunt's house for the wonderful dinner, handing with family and of course pictures.

Update on mom...

Today mom and dad went back for her post-op.

Dr. Hines said that mama's lab test came back negative which is great and he is sure they got all the cancer, but she will start chemo in a few weeks because this type of cancer is so aggressive.

I know we will have a long road ahead of us with the chemo but, with family, friends and of course God on our side WE WILL GET THROUGH THIS!

A day of worry

This morning we headed out to Southern Regional for mom's surgery. I cannot express the emotions I have felt all day. Worry, stress, a feel of being alone, concern, hurt, hope it really could go on and on.
Mom's surgery was scheduled for 12:00 but, was pushed back until after 2:00. The surgery itself lasted almost 3 hours. During this time I didn't know what to do. It was such a odd feeling knowing my mom was in a cold operation room while me and few others sat in a waiting room talking, playing on facebook, & eating.
Dr. Hines finally came out to speak to us. He said the surgery went great!!!! After about an hour later we finally got to see her in the recovery room. We all got a chance to go in and see her. A little later everyone headed home and I stayed with mom. Not long after everyone left the nurses started visiting us every few moments. Mom and I even went for a walk!
As mom got comfortable in her bed I sat in the guest spot for the night. Again, more emotions! Even though we had been told things were looking good I couldn't help but, to worry. I kept thinking about the things I want to do with mom and things I want her to see me do. Ya, know like become and wife and mom :)
After I sent out some emails and updated family & friends I shut my laptop down and talked to God for a while. He always makes me feel better!

3 WORDS

Have you ever heard someone say "sticks & stones can break my bones but, words can never hurt me"? I am sure you have because it such a childhood saying. Many words can be said to us over the years of our lives but, so many words can effect us and our lives.

How about when you were little and your favorite friend in the world called you their BEST friend? What about when you heard you made the team? When the one person you want to say IT says I love you? What about your approved for the loan? How about we're getting married/having a baby?

How did they make you feel?

Tonight I was told "I have cancer" by mom. My life changed in one short moment in time. My life flashed of what would I do without her and how would I survive or remember anything. When these words are said to you by someone else you always think oh, I am sorry I will pray for you but, when it is your mom it is totally different.

As I have thought about this situation over and over the only answer I can come to is the only answer that comes true....JUST PRAY!!!!

I Love Babies!

As most of you know one my most favorite friends the world is having a baby boy soon. Mandy was given a baby shower today from some of her other friends and it was a wonderful shower filled with lots of love and gifts.

Baby Reid is due October 17th and I don't think his mom, dad or big sister Maya could be any happier. After today Reid should be a well dressed little man :)

I will say it was one of the funniest baby shower's I have ever been to! All the ladies there that have little boys or even grown boys told Mandy stories on how different little boys are from girls. The facial expressions were worth a million bucks!

Here are a few pics from today's shower...

Monkey's were very popular at the shower...

Friday Night Lights

Tonight I headed down south to Bibb County to watch Howard play some good ole' fashion football! The cool thing about this game is Ansley would be cheering with the varsity cheerleaders :) She was so excited about being on the field and she had a large group of friends & family there to watch her.
Ansley joined us in the stands no long after the game started and was still cheering in the stands. Every time we would get a TD she would cheer and put her arms in a high V with some "spirit fingers". I guess you can take the cheerleader off the field but, you can't take it out of her :)
The Howard Huskies played an awesome game and put the smack down on the field. At the start of 4th quarter Howard was winning 38 to 14 and actually got two more TD's in the 4th. I hated that we didn't get to see those but, since it was getting late we decided it might be best to leave a little early with the 4 kids and beat the crowd.
I was so proud of Ansley....nothing makes your heart more proud then to watch someone you love loving something you have heart for yourself!

Check out the slide show of Ansley cheering & the football game:

A long, long time coming but great news!

I GOT A JOB!!!!

After being laid off for 8 long months I will be going back to work :) I am now employed by Chic-Fil-A....woohoo!! I can't wait to see what a steady paycheck looks like and what insurance feels like again.

I guess this brings to mind what have I learned over the past months??
~I don't always have to have what I want.
~I can go without things.
~I learned to live with only the things I need.
~I saw who my real friends are.
~I can still have fun without money.

But, mostly I learned...
* I am not in control of my life...if you pray HE listens*

Stay posted to see how my new job goes....& where it leads me!

Momentum ROCKS!!!!

I have to start out this blog by telling you I LOVE my church!! Momentum rocks in every way. As of this past week I have started working with the kids at Momentum and I am super excited about it.

Kidmo is super cool and nothing like the Sunday school I grew up in. I love getting to know each one the girls and boys and being able to play apart in their life. I can't wait until October when all the changes in Kidmo take place and I get to teach the 1st & 2nd grade girls one on one.

I just love kids and can't wait to play a role in their life.

Again, I love Momentum and will tell you if you haven't found a church the doors here are always welcome and you will love what you receive in return.

Haley & Layne cheerleading

Haley and Layne whom I keep afterschool went to the Union Grove high school cheerleading camp this week and enjoyed every moment. They were so cute! They would get off the bus and want to know how long we had until cheerleading.

Tonight was the big night were they got to cheer at the varsity game with the big girls! I loved watching them do the cheers, chants and dances they had learned over the past few days.

Words can't express how excited they were and how cute they are...so just sit back and enjoy the video!

Finally after 8 months...

I finally got a hair cut after 8 months!!

Since being laid off last December I have refused to pay $25.00 to get my hair cut. Well I finally broke down today and got one.

OH, how I loved getting my hair cut! I promised my hair we won't that long ever again :0

Just shows the things you will give up when trying to not spend money....

The last one before the "BIG" one....

This weekend my cousin Michelle came home for her 10 year class reunion. I can't say I know what all happen at the reunion because I wasn't there but, I did hear she had a good time.

While she was home we celebrated for 29th birthay early. Her b-day actually isn't until September but, she won't make it back home for a while.

Here are a few pics:

Yummy....

Happy Birthday Michelle

Gotta lovin' going green with Georgia RED!

CRAVE!!!!

It's okay to want an iPhone, dream about a vacation, or desire a better car. But if you yearn for a deeper connection with other women, long for genuine worship or ache for a closer walk with God, then join us for CRAVE!!!!

That was the intro to the women's gathering we had a Momentum tonight and it was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really don't know how I am going to blog about this because it was beyond words.

My ladies lifegroup met for dinner at Applebee's which we had about 20 of us there...how cool :) After we ate we left to head to the church were they had loads of cupcakes, sweets, and coffee. I love coffee!!!! There was around 120 ladies there that night and it was an awesome night with all women. The praise band was all women we sung and praised our Lord. Then a longtime friend Lane Beth spoke and I have to say she did a amazng job.

I have to say I walked away that night full of the spirit and CRAVING more.

1st Day of school 2009

The first day of the school is finally here. Even though I don't have any kids to get up and ready it is still exciting for me because I still have nieces and a nephew in school. I love hearing how their day went, what they wore & who is in their classes.
I did although start something new this year so I was really excited last night when I went to bed. I woke up this morning charged up with the thought that I would start keeping 3 girls after school.
At 2:30 I was sitting at the bus stop waiting on the girls to get home and at 2:45 here came two giggle little 1st graders running straight to me. Haley and Layne are so sweet and funny as can be. At 4:00 Hannah comes home from middle school. I love talking to Hannah!!!!! She keeps me updated on the middle school social life and I give her a hard time about boys :)

I think it is going to be a great year!! :0

Lunch with highschool friends

Today is a day I have been looking forward to for weeks! I headed up to Atlantic Station to meet up with friends from high school. The cool thing is we all haven't been together in 13 years. On my way there I kept thinking I wonder if anyone has really changed and that answer would be NO...we all still look the same no kidding.

Holly has moved to South Carolina due to her job. Kelly is in Locust Grove. Callie is in Sandy Springs. Jennifer is in Kenasaw and Laura is in Marietta. It was so nice to see everyone and hear all about their kids and husbands.

To give you a background on everyone I actually met everyone but, Laura in elementary school. I then met Laura in middle school and then the whole group came together in high school. Jennifer and I were in homeroom together all 4 years of high school and after high school Callie and I had an apartment in McDonough together.

Laura and I cheered with each other in middle school and then we all cheered with each other in high school. I have so MANY memories of the girls and made so many more today!

We promise we would keep this up and not wait another 13 years before seeing each other again :)

Ansley goes to cheer camp :)

Today I headed south to watch Ansley at cheer camp! I was so excited about seeing her at her camp....being an "old" cheerleader myself. The high school that Jennifer works at held a mini cheer camp as a fundraiser for the cheerleading squad.

Ansley was all smiles and full of spirit! She had a blast learning her cheers, chants, dances and jumps. I think she loved getting to know the "big" cheerleaders and I can't wait to go and watch her in September at Howard's first home game :0

Wednesday, July 15, 2009

After my "mini" vacation with Callie I headed straight back to McDonough to eat with my family. We had a great night at Logan's Steakhouse which was very yummy! It was so nice to spend time with my parents, grandmother, aunt & uncle and cousins. We have a few birthday's in July so of course we had a cake to celebrate the occasion.

Enjoy!

Spend the night party :)

Yesterday afternoon I headed up to the north side of the ATL to hangout with one of my favorite people & her baby. Callie and I have been friends forever and now she has Jack for me to love on when I go and see her. Matt her husband was out of town on business so we planned to hangout while she was "single" for the night.

When I finally arrived we got all caught up on what has been going on with each one of us and the headed out to dinner....yummy! Later that night after Jack went down to sleep Callie and I stayed up soooo late. It was so nice just to sit back and talk about what has changed in our lives since we were roomies.

Here is a few shots I got from my "mini" 2 day vacation! I can't wait to do it again :)

Callie and her sweet boy Jack

I love this picture....how sweet!

Tonight I went down to High Falls Waterpark for Nicholas & Jon Michael's birthday party!! It was full of fun, giggling kids and LOTS of water :) It was a load of fun to see all the kids going down the waterfalls over & over & over....I think they would have done it all night if the park would have allowed it.

Here is a quick slide show of the party :)

WOOHOO :) They loved the movie and I guess I will admit it was pretty cute. Here are some cute pics of the girls....

Good Food & Good Times With Family....

If you know me you know I LOVE being with my family & friends. Tonight we had a small cookout and party for my cousin Brittany who is now the "old" age of 24! Wow, I remember when I was that age....many, many moons ago :) We had some really good food grilled chicken....ha, ha I love me some chicken. Oh, there was also some ribs there but, I don't eat that. We had a great time talking, laughing and talking some more. I love family gatherings....I love my family! I hope Brittany had a great day and I wish her many more years for us all to celebrate together! MUAH cuz :)

Simple Prayers

Lord, I thank you for your beloved Son, for your unfailing love, and for Your wonderful thoughts. During my busy day, help me to remember all that You have done for me. Help me to follow Your Word and walk in purity of heart.
