Christmas 2012

Merry Christmas y'all :)

Well, actually Christmas has come and gone.  One part of me is sad, I love Christmas.  The other half of me is ready to get all these decorations down and put away.  I had a wonderful Christmas!  I love the holidays SO much! I love that people get in the spirit of giving, although I wish that spirit would stay around all year. However, as sad as it is that time passes so quickly, it will be Christmas again before we know it!

I enjoyed the time I got to spend with my loved ones and my friends.  I received some great gifts too!  Every Christmas I enjoy sitting or standing back at one time or another at all the gathering and just looking around the room.  Taking in the memories that are being made.  Listening to the all the conversations and laughter.  It's like the moments freeze in time for a moment or two.  There are always moments I don't ever want to forget.  Yes, I am one of the sappy, emotional girls -  my heart feels so full, I'm SO thankful!!

Rotten Lemons....

Am I the only one that sometimes feels like every way I turn, something or someone is coming at you?  Me, yes, yes I do. For the last few months I have felt like I can't get a break.

A few weeks back I uploaded this picture to Instagram & Twitter:

Yes, this is my life at the moment!  High blood pressure, migraines that are about the make me lose my mind, & a face that is reacting to all these things. Oh, wait it gets better because that couldn't be enough.

Back, during the Summer I noticed I had a place right above my right eye that wouldn't tan. At, first I didn't think anything about it. I figured that the last time I got my eyebrows waxed that the wax was to hot and burnt me. As, time went on it never got better & still wouldn't tan. Over, Labor Day weekend I noticed the area had spread and at this point start getting really concerned. I called, made an appointment & headed to the dermatologist.  At, first the doctor thought it could be sun damage, but after another visit the doctor realized it wasn't sun damage it is actually a skin disease called Vitiligo.

Vitiligo, is a pigmentation disorder in which melanocytes (the cells that make pigment) in the skin are destroyed. As a result, white patches appear on the skin in different parts of the body. Vitiligo is an autoimmune disease -- a disease in which a person's immune system reacts against the body's own organs or tissues.  It has been found that emotional distress triggered vitiligo.  My doctor has traced it back to this past Spring.  In, April of this year my blood pressure went extremely high.  I was as close to having a stroke as I ever want to be.

As, the pigmentation of my skin changes so, will my hair color.  My eyebrows have already started turning white and eventually my eyelashes will too. For you that REALLY know me and know I go NO WHERE without my make up on...yea, you can bet you will never see me without it now :)
I am lucky that I am two things: 1) A girl!  I color my hair every 6 weeks so, my wonderful hairdresser has talked to me and informed me we can color my eyebrows too! 2) I am of the white race so, the only time most people will see anything is when I am tanning.  Again, glad to be a girl....makeup will SO come in handy :)

I am not going to lie I have had a couple of pitty parties, but things will be fine.  I am researching all about Vitiligo and trying my best to learn more about it.
I AM BLESSED at the end of the day and I don't forget that.  I have a friend with a child that lives with CF everyday.  In the last week I have learned of three friends who are losing their parents to Cancer.  I read blogs everyday of couples who have lost children to awful diseases.  If, the color of my skin wants to change - then you know what I will put my big girl pants on a deal with it :)

LIFE GOES ON ~ It's what you do with those lemons that are being thrown at you!!

Mountains, Leaves, Pumpkins...oh, my!

Friday, after work a couple friends of mine, & myself headed about 2 hours north to the mountains. We had a cabin in Amicaloa State Park for the weekend. I must say we had a BLAST!! Friday evening, we didn't do much, but get settled into the cabin and plan our events for the next day. Oh, but I must say it was chilly! If, you follow me on twitter I tweeted a pic of the weather for the weekend...hello, low of 43!  I also, tweeted a pic of this:

This was the funniest thing to me.  Diversified is the company I work for so, to walk into my cabin for the weekend and see one of our fire extinguisher's hanging in it was pretty dang funny.  Saturday, it was beautiful and the weather was perfect. We first headed over to Burt's Pumpkin Patch. Goodness, I have never seen that many pumpkins in one place nor, have I ever seen pumpkin's that big before.

Burt's trip included walking around looking at all the pumpkins, taking pictures with them, lots of laughing a little whining and oh, one fun hay ride!

 Love these girls!

This sign was funny to me.  I mean I know they need rules, but kick or drop?  Can't say I have ever done either.  Well, on purpose :)

Mountains, beach, football game or shopping mall...Jenn & I have the BEST time!!
After, Burt's we head out for lunch and then we were off for apples.  I didn't get any pictures of this, but I can assure you all that if, the saying "A apple a day keeps the doctor away is true."  We all shall never see a doctor again :)
I don't know about the rest of my gang, but I do know I was ready for the dinner that was waiting for us that night. If, there is one thing that my friends request from me it is that I cook spaghetti so, that is what I prepared & I must so, it was yummy!

What does all good campers do when it gets dark and cold outside?  I don't know what campers do, but I know that people staying in cabin's gather their blankets, ipads, iphones and walk behind their cabin to the bonfire and roast s'mores!!
Today, we got up and got ready to head home.  Well, with a a few stops on the way, one being the look out at the falls.  It was beautiful, but I must say Jenn & I were not dressed for this.  If, we didn't know this the looks the "other girls" gave us while there would have told us.

Now, on to the fun stuff unpacking...
Although, one bag will be VERY FUN to unpack.........

It's Fall Y'all

Y'all, it is slowly coming to the South...Fall :)  Yes, I know it's the middle of October, but y'all know we do things a little slower down here in the South.  The leaves are starting to change, the morning and evenings are chilly and my Fall clothes have made it to the front on my closet.  The older I get the more I love Fall.  There are some many fun things to do around town.  FUN weekend trips to be made.  Caramel & candy apples to eat.  Pumpkins to pick & Fall decor to put up!

This past weekend I pulled all my Fall decor out and hit up Michael's & Hobby Lobby  for some I "need" these purchases.
I hung my wreath on my door...monogrammed with an "H" of course.  It's the South y'all, all Southern homes have them...well, mine does...of course!

No, front door is complete without a cute little scarecrow couple, hay and pumpkins...
My home is ready for Fall, goblins, ghosts & all the little ones who ask for candy by saying trick or treat!

YIKES!

Ok, it's no news to anyone that I carry large purses.  My best friend says my purse weighs as much as a 3rd world country.  Hey, to my defense when someone needs something WHO do they come to...ME.  Yes, I carry everything, but the kitchen sink with me.
Not, only do I carry large purses, I also seem to be some what of a Coach snob.  Love. Them!
Alright, so tonight I was trying to find something in my purse and it was like trying to find a needle in a haystack.
Hum, I wonder why?  Can you figure it out?

Needless, to say I cleaned it out and actually changed purses tonight.  I have a few other things I need to "clean" out.  Do you?
Out with the old and in with the new for Fall....

Let's Chat

I've just been in a blog funk this last week.  I always have lots to say, just nothing to say here or better yet can't find the time to blog.
So what has been going on?

Reid turned 3 and we parted super hero style!

My Dawgs didn't do so hot against South Carolina.  It was a heart break game for us Georgia fans.
That's all we will say about that.

Then, such sad news, it was announced that Aaron Murry, our quarterback's father was dignosed with cancer.  Aaron's family is in my prayers and thoughts.  As, the daughter of a cancer survivor I know that heart dropping feeling when you hear that news.  I remember every trial, prayer and hope until you hear the words cancer free.  Please take a moment and think about Murry family at this time.

I, of course have been taking part in the 31 days of Fall fashion on Instagram:

Ok, days 5, 6 and 7 are missing - 5 was Fall polish  - my nails ALWAYS look the same, french manicure.  As, do my toes :) Day 6 was latest style splurge and I totally forgot - not lack of doing any shopping :)  Day 7 was Sunday and I was a lazy bum that day. Not to mention I'm not sure I own anything the color of mustard.

Ending note:  It has been down right chilly today here in Georgia.  So, tonight I am watching the Real Housewives of New York reunion all cozy on my sofa wearing ONE of my most favorite sweatshirts EVER.  Yes, this baby is 16 years old, but I tell you it is still so comfy.  Well, broken in and is backed with loads of memories!!

It's Fall Y'all

Football is in full gear & must I say that my Dawgs are 5-0.  WOOF, WOOF!!  I have been to two games so far this season and boy did they try to give me heart failure this past Saturday against Tennessee.  The older I get the more I really enjoy Fall.  I am not sure if, it is because by the end of August I am ready for some cooler weather or a change in fashion or what exactly it is.  I mean this girl does love her boots!  Speaking of boots I have broke them bad boys out of the closet the last couple of days.  I have mentioned the very stylist Rachel on my blog before that I follow here: Rachel's Blog.  I also, follow Rachel on Twitter and Instagram.  I know, I know I'm slightly into the social media scene :)  The other day she posted on Instagram the Fall Style Photo-a-Day Challenge.  I thought what the heck it would be fun to join in and snap a pic on the daily challenge.

Y'all should totally join me!!
Come on girls, it will be fun and hey you never know what Fall fashion ideas you will get from looking at every one's photos :)

Ok, so Day 1 was Denim....

Hope you all will decide to join me!

Happy Fall Y'all

Simple Prayers

Lord, I thank you for your beloved Son, for your unfailing love, and for Your wonderful thoughts. During my busy day, help me to remember all that You have done for me. Help me to follow Your Word and walk in purity of heart.
